In June 2011 the ASCCs original funding cycle will reach completion, and new stem cell initiatives will be introduced.
The Centre was originally established under the Biotechnology Centre of Excellence program in 2002, with funding to a total of $100 million. An
announcement was made in early June regarding the future funding schemes, and more information has now been published by the media.
